It is based on the pioneering work of Jon Kabat-Zinn and is backed up by 30 years of published research. 
Mindfulness-based interventions have been proven in reducing stress-related medical conditions and have recently been approved by Health Canada as first-line complementary therapy in the initial management of cardiac and stroke prevention.

Our program improves health through balanced awareness, by teaching the medical model of stress and mind/body diseases, evidence-based mindfulness practices, and updated evidence-based mindful self compassion (learning to include ourselves in the circle of caring). We offer practical life-long skills to help mange work/life stress, depression and depression.

The participants are provided with: formal medical teaching of stress,;stress management techniques; interactive discussion; direct experience with mindful meditation practices; direct experience with some mindful self compassion practices; gentle mindful movement and healing live music; USB KEY with guided meditations; access to educational material through the website.

What Is Mindfulness? 
Mindfulness is like exercise for our minds. It exercises the muscles of paying attention and developing healthy attitudes. Jon Kabat-Zinn, the founder of health bases mindfulness training, describes mindfulness as the awareness that arises through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally with acceptance and compassion to things as they are. Non- judgement means being open to multiple perceptions
