Since 2006: Dr Gerald Levine has been effectively teaching the Mindfulness-Based Stress Management program in Barrie, ON

Since 2009: ISMP has been training employees from York Support Services Network-Newmarket, Canadian Mental Health Association-York Region and Simcoe County, Simcoe County Elementary Teachers’ Federation, and workshops for RVH, Georgian College, Addiction Services for York Region, Markham Stouffville Hospital, Ontario Shores for Mental Health Sciences, Women’s Support Network, LOFT Crosslinks, Rose of Sharon and Southlake Regional Health Centre.

Since 2014: ISMP has been working with Simcoe County District School Board training teachers in mindfulness.

September 2016: The ISMP team successfully presented four stress management/mindfulness workshops at a national Health and Safety conference for UNIFOR, Canada’s largest union, in St John’s Newfoundland. The conference was titled Workplace Mental Health: A Call to Action.

November 2016: The ISMP team had the privilege of teaching at the GPPA National Conference for 30 family doctors who specialize in psychotherapy.  
We lead a full weekend conference retreat of our Mindful Self Compassion Program (Including ourselves in the circle of caring and learning antidotes for compassion fatigue)
Course approved by The College of Family Physicians of Ontario for continuing education credits (CME Accreditation). Our team will provide you with profound stress management skills to navigate life’s inevitable stress waves more effectively. Our program provides practical, portable, effective tools to manage work/life stress for improved mental/physical health.

It is based on the pioneering work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, and is backed up by 30 years of published research.  Mindfulness-based interventions have been proven in reducing stress-related medical conditions, and have recently been approved by Health Canada as first-line complementary therapy in the initial management of cardiac and stroke prevention.

  • one 6 hour, all-day program with a nutritious lunch included.

Program fee: $300 which includes enrollment fee plus all of the above.  The cost of participation is partially covered by OHIP.  (This program would normally cost $800 if not partially covered by OHIP).
